Research Opportunities
I know it can be difficult to land a research or intern position, especially as a first-generation student. However, I'm here to provide some research programs that focus on STEM that I applied to and got accepted myself! These opportunities are great if you want to expand your passion and stand out in college applications.
Summer Research/Internship Programs
Aspirnaut High School Research Internship at Vanderbilt University
Minimum age 15
If you are interested in biomedical research as a first-generation, low-income, or minority student then this internship is perfect for you! Applications will open in September for the summer of 2023.
Clinical Neuroscience Immersion Experience (CNI-X) at Stanford University
Ages 14-18
Those interested in neuroscience, psychology, and psychiatry will definitely enjoy this program. You will work with your professors and peers and present a capstone project!
The John Hopkins Internship in Brain Sciences (JHIBS)
Grades 11 and 12
In this summer program, you will gain research experience and learn more about the neuroscience field. Students who live in the Baltimore area do research in person. This is a virtual experience for students who live outside the area.
